Yvette Jackson is a Community Organizer by training and has spent the past 15 years working on public policy issues and developing media strategies for non-profit organizations, elected officials and candidates for public office.
Prior to joining Seedco, she served as a Spokesperson and Special Assistant for the New York City Comptroller. She took a one-year leave of absence in 2009 to work on the Comptroller’s campaign to become New York City Mayor as the Director of Operations. In each of these positions, she used her background and knowledge working in marginalized communities to devise and implement strategies to help make New York City a better place to live and work.
Prior to working at the Comptroller’s Office, Ms. Jackson served as the Director of Policy at the Abyssinian Development Corporation and as the Associate Director for the “good government” group, Citizens Union Foundation.
Ms. Jackson received her BA from the University of Connecticut and MPA from Columbia University.
