Benefits and Health Insurance Enrollment

Helping Individuals And Families

Enhancing access to benefits and health insurance is critical to Seedco’s strategy of helping individuals and families move towards self-sufficiency. Our approach tackles multiple issues:

  • Education and outreach to counter lack of awareness about programs, misunderstanding of eligibility requirements, and stigma on accessing assistance
  • Embedding Seedco staff and outreach events in community-based settings to benefit from local partners’ trusted relationships and to provide ease of access
  • Using Seedco’s proprietary EarnBenefits Online software to leverage the technology’s convenience, accuracy, and timeliness

Red Nose Day/Comic Relief US

Seedco is a proud recipient of funding from Red Nose Day/Comic Relief US! (RND/CRUS) strongly believes and supports that all children have the right to a healthy future.

What does that healthy future look like? It is providing a holistic balance of four Red Nose Day pillars: safety, health, education and empowerment!

A healthy body and mind that gives children the opportunity to achieve their hopes and dreams. Access to quality healthcare and nutritious food to ensure children can grow strong without worry. It is a space to nurture wellness, a safe place to call home, the right tools to learn, and it is empowering young people to lead us into this bright future.

We can make this a reality. Together, let’s build a healthy future for all children.

Seedco’s Midsouth Regional Office RND funded program provides children and families with access to healthcare coverage in ten counties across West Tennessee. Enrollment Counselors are available to assist you in enrollments and renewals in Shelby, Tipton, Haywood, Hardeman, Fayette, Madison, Chester and Lauderdale counties! SNAP Outreach

Many working families, unemployed, seniors, and others struggle to put food on the table. Since 2011, Seedco has helped thousands of low-income families  across the country access vital food benefits. Seedco’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach is focused on Baltimore residents, prevents hunger, helps seniors and families make healthier food choices, and counters misinformation and stigma associated with receiving SNAP benefits, formerly known as food stamps. The barriers are numerous: knowledge, language, and education limitations; pervasive myths; and difficulty accessing in-person assistance. We overcome these barriers by working at community-based sites, providing culturally competent services, and conducting wide outreach and information sharing. In addition, Seedco uses its EarnBenefitsOnline tool to screen individuals for a range of other benefits for which they may qualify.

In collaboration with CASH Campaign of Maryland, Bon Secours Community Works, and Centro de Ayuda, Seedco disseminates information, provides SNAP eligibility screenings, and directly assists people with completing the SNAP application.  This program is supported by the State of Maryland Department of Human Resources.
