Seedco Executive Director Tara Colton was named to two new advisory boards established by the Human Services Council (HSC): the HSC Priority and Strategy Council and the Value-Based Payment Commission.
HSC has tasked the Priority and Strategy Council with providing a broad forum for discussion of substantive issues to inform HSC’s agenda and strategy; offering feedback to government on new approaches, policies, etc., being considered that cut across the sector; and identifying new trends and offering ideas for new approaches and suggestions of issues HSC should consider addressing.
HSC formed the Value-Based Payment Commission to support New York State’s shift to a value-based payment (VBP) model for health and human services in the area of Medicaid. A diverse cross-section of health and human services advocates, service providers, policy leaders, and philanthropists, the Commission plans to craft a roadmap towards the identification of models and contractual pathways for health and human services to contribute to improved health outcomes in an increasingly VBP world, focused on social determinants of health. The Commission is Chaired by Lilliam Barrios-Paoli, former New York City Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services. Ms. Barrios-Paoli is also Vice-Chair of Seedco’s Board of Directors.
