On March 11, 2015, we hosted a SNAP/Food Stamps: Feeding Families, Feeding the Economy at Morrison & Foerster, LLP in New York City.
The primary goal of the discussion was to bring more attention to the positive impact of SNAP (the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-formerly Food Stamps). SNAP is widely considered to be the nation’s most important hunger prevention program, improving economic, health, and social outcomes for low-income families and communities.
Our dynamic moderator (Linda Douglass) and panelists (Commissioner, Steven Banks, Tom Freedman & Diane Whitmore Schanzenbach) provided valuable insights, as well as actionable and practical ways to help families and communities navigate the program. They shared thought-provoking research and information regarding future campaigns which will streamline the enrollment and re-certification process.
